Stargaze at The Ingram Planetarium. It is located at Sunset Beach, North Carolina, in The Village at Sunset Beach. From NC Highway 17, take Highway 904 East toward Sunset Beach. At the second traffic light, turn right. The Planetarium is one-fourth mile on right, just past the shopping center. Hours are Friday and Saturday 1pm – 4pm. Admission is $8 for adults, $6 for seniors and children K-12 and $4 for children 2 – 5. For program information, call 910-575-0033.

The Museum of Coastal Carolina, in Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina, is filled with fascinating information about the natural science, environment, and cultural history of the coastal region of the Carolinas. Take Highway 17 North into North Carolina for approximately 10 miles. Watch for road sign for “Airport & Ocean Isle Beach” with a right arrow. Turn right onto Ocean Isle Beach Road (State Road #1184). Travel approximately four miles to the traffic light. Go straight through the intersection and across the bridge. Turn left onto East Second Street. The Museum is the first large building on the left. Hours are Friday and Saturday, 10am – 4pm. The Children’s Museum of South Carolina has interactive exhibits that will delight the child in everyone. Find it next to the construction site on Kings Hwy and across the street from the Myrtle Beach Convention Center. It is on the ocean side of the Office Depot building with red doors, a blue awning and yellow sign. Hours are Tuesday-Saturday, 10 am-4 pm. Admission is $7. The Myrtle Beach Art Museum is the Grand Strand’s home for contemporary art. The Art Museum is a showcase for living artists, dedicated to furthering the visual arts in northeastern South Carolina. It is Myrtle Beach’s very own art museum and the only one of its kind in Horry County. Find it at 3100 South Ocean Blvd., adjacent to Springmaid Resort. The museum is open Tuesday-Saturdays from 10 – 4 and Sundays from 1 – 4. For information, call 843-235-2510. Admission is free.
The Horry County Museum houses exhibits about Horry County history from pre-history to the present. Find it in Conway, at 428 Main St. Hours are Monday – Wednesday 9am – 5pm; Thursday 9am – 8pm; Friday and Saturday 9am – 5pm; Sunday 2pm – 5pm. Admission is free. The Rice Museum explores the fascinating rice culture of Georgetown County. It is located on Front St. in Georgetown in the town clock building. Hours are 10am – 4:30pm Monday – Saturday. Admission is $7 for adults, $5 for seniors and $3 for children and students 12 – 21. For more information, call 843-546-7423.
The Georgetown County Museum features exhibits highlighting nearly 300 years of the culture of Georgetown County. Find it in the heart of the Georgetown Historic District at 632 Prince St. Hours are Tuesday-Friday, 10am– 5pm, and Saturday 10am – 3pm. Admission is $4 for adults, $2 for children and $3 for seniors. The first Saturday of every month all admissions are $1. For more information, call 843-545-7020.
The Kaminski House was built in the late 1700s on a bluff overlooking the Sampit River in Georgetown. It features a large collection of fine antiques and many of the original floors and moldings. It is located at 1003 Front St. in Georgetown. Hours are Monday – Saturday 10am – 4pm and Sunday 1 – 4pm. Admission is $7 for adults, $5 for seniors and $3 for children. Hopsewee Plantation is a remarkably preserved home built nearly 40 years before the Revolutionary War. It is still a private residence, but tours are available. It is 12 miles south of Georgetown, on Hwy. 17. Tours are given 10am – 4pm, Monday – Friday, 1 – 4pm on Saturday or by reservation. Admission is $15 for adults and $7.50 for children 5 – 17. There is a charge of $5 per car to tour the grounds only. For more information, call 843-546-7891.

Hampton Plantation State Historic Site features beautifully manicured grounds and a colonial era home. It is 16 miles south of Georgetown on Hwy 17. The grounds are open daily from 9am – 6pm, and admission is free. From March through October, tours of the mansion are given hourly, Tuesday – Sunday, from noon – 4pm. Winter hours are Thursday – Sunday, from noon – 4pm. Admission is $4 for adults, $2.50 for S.C. seniors and $3 for children. For more information, call 843-546-9361.
