A National Historic Landmark, AZA accredited zoo and world-renowned sculpture garden.
From its beginning, in 1931, when Archer and Anna Hyatt Huntington created this non-profit outdoor museum with its majestic oaks and world-renowned sculpture, it has been a place to restore your soul and renew your spirit. Wide expansive lawns lure you to relax and small-enclosed gardens allow space for private reflection. And that’s not all… Brookgreen offers a selection of daily tours, and programs plus cruises on a pontoon boat and back-road excursions on the Trekker. Walk the historic Lowcountry Trail and let your imagination take you back in time, then it’s on to the Lowcountry Zoo where you will see native animals – alligators, eagles, owls, hawks, foxes, otters, wild turkeys, and deer in their natural habitats. Take in a Meet the Animals program, or walk with an interpreter when they feed the animals a snack in Mother Natures Café. Its beautiful gardens, rich historical sites and gracious southern hospitality tempt you to return again and again which is one of the reasons the admission is good for seven consecutive days!
