The Franklin G. Burroughs-Simeon B. Chapin Art Museum is the Grand Strand’s home for the visual arts.
Located at 3100 South Ocean Boulevard next to Springmaid Pier, the Art Museum is a restored 1920s beach house with signature striped awnings and a picturesque tea porch with an ocean view.
In our 10 galleries, art exhibits change throughout the year. At any given time, you might enjoy watercolors, oils, textiles, sculpture, ceramics or photography. In our Museum Shop, select for your own collection from a cross section of work by leading artists and craftspeople from throughout the Southeast.
Special programs are offered regularly, so always inquire about scheduled events during your visit.
Visit the Art Museum Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, 1 to 4 p.m.
The Museum is closed Mondays. Admission is free, but donations are appreciated. The Art Museum is located on the south end of Ocean Boulevard next to Springmaid Pier. For information on special events and programs, call 843-238-2510.
On exhibition, June 8 through October 3, 2010, A Survey of Gee’s Bend Quilts with Linda Day Clark: The Gee’s Bend Photographs. Come immerse yourself in the “visual rhythms” of 20 quilts by the internationally acclaimed quiltmakers of Gee’s Bend, Alabama, in harmony with 10 colorful etchings designed by Gee’s Bend quilters and accompanied by 25 photographs of the quilters and their isolated, rural world by noted photographer Linda Day Clark.
